COVID-19 has affected everyone in 2020. One proven measure that can kill SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses is the use of ultraviolet radiation (UV) to disinfect spaces and make them safe. But there is more we need to learn to solve this complex problem we face today.
All lighting practitioners should tune in to learn about the history of the use of germicidal ultraviolet radiation (GUV), demystifying the science behind what makes it work, consider potential impact on humans, the technology available today and what we expect to see in the near future.
(Qualifies for 1 LEU)
Learning Objectives:
- Learn what GUV radiation is, the science behind it and how it works.
- Explain the potential positive and negative impacts on human beings.
- Discuss the GUV disinfection technologies available now and in the near future.
- Identify why a lighting practitioner should learn this now.
