In keeping with the mission of the IES, the Raleigh Section offers a full calendar of educational programs to suit various levels of lighting knowledge and addressing the diversity of section membership and community.

Education seminars provide up-to-date information on the latest in lighting design, technique, and technologies. Furthermore, you can earn valuable CEU and LEU credits by taking part.

LightHouse Education

These programs provide up-to-date information on the latest in lighting design, technique, and technologies. Furthermore, you can earn valuable CEU and LEU credits with attendance. LightHouse Education programs include a variety of free live virtual programs or on-site Walk and Talks facilitated by IES Raleigh education committee with industry leaders.

Introduction To Lighting

A seven-module introductory course about the field of lighting. Online, self-paced course (No CEUs)

Fundamentals of Lighting (FOL)

Offered once a year, is designed as the entry level course for those who have little lighting knowledge and provides a strong introduction to the art, science and practice of lighting and is ever popular with new lighting professionals or anyone looking for basic lighting knowledge.

IES Lighting Library

is a newly formulated 5-collection series of IES standards that updates, expands, and replaces the 2010 Lighting Handbook and previous versions of our standards. All content within the Library has been vetted and approved by our ANSI-approved IES consensus process, with most of the nearly 100 standards having attained American National Standards status. Lighting Science Collection is free with all IES membership and can be accessed via MyIES portal from https://www.ies.org/ or directly via link: https://lightinglibrary.ies.org/
